Phoenician Grinder Features
Every Phoenician grinder is built around the same handful of engineering choices: a threadless lock, razor-sharp patented teeth, trapezoidal drop-through holes, a removable screen and a beveled kief chamber, all machined from aerospace-grade aluminum and backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Here is what each feature does and why it matters when you grind.
Rolling paper dispenser and ashtray
Our flagship grinder, the PRO 4 Piece Large with Paper Holder & Ashtray, has a built-in 1 1/4 inch rolling paper dispenser in the lid, and the lid doubles as an ashtray with a fingerprint design. It is only available on the Large 4 Piece; the 4 Piece Large Flat Top has a traditional flat lid instead. No more hunting for papers or an ashtray.
Threadless quick lock
Instead of screw threads, our patented quick lock uses three locking wedges that drop into matching notches. A short twist locks or opens each section. With no threads, there is nothing to bind, wear out, cross-thread or gum up with resin, and the tighter you twist, the tighter the lock. A magnet holds the lid on top.
It also means quicker access to every chamber: one short twist instead of several full rotations. Why that matters over time is covered in threaded vs. threadless grinders.
Diametrically cut, razor-sharp patented teeth
Our teeth are designed to cut rather than shred, smash and tear. They engage incrementally in a shearing motion, like scissors, which reduces friction and helps preserve trichomes.
Most herb grinders use substantially more teeth and rely on friction to break flower apart. Fewer, sharper teeth give the bud room to move and get cut cleanly.
Removable stainless steel screen
On our small, medium and large 4 piece grinders, the screen is thick stainless steel resting on a Fibonacci-inspired spiral brace and held by one center screw. It lets the screen sit in its natural state instead of being stuck in place where it can clog, tear or warp, and it can be pulled for cleaning or swapped.
Every 4 piece ships with the standard 300 micron screen. The Upgrade Kit adds fine 180 and coarse 400 micron screens, so you can match the screen to your flower and climate:

Trapezoidal drop-through holes
The drop-through holes are an inverse trapezoid, larger than typical round holes. Flower falls through once it is cut to a usable size, and the shape works with the teeth so it takes fewer lid turns to finish a grind. The result is a fluffier, more consistent grind. Beveled bottom chamber
The bottom chamber of both our 2 piece and 4 piece grinders is smooth and beveled, so kief sweeps out cleanly with the included kief spoon instead of getting stuck in square corners.
Aerospace-grade aluminum
Phoenician grinders are machined from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type II anodized finish that resists corrosion and won't chip or flake.
Limited lifetime warranty
Every Phoenician grinder, including our 2 piece grinders, is backed by a limited lifetime warranty on the functional parts that matter: the teeth, the lock notch couplings, the magnet and the screen brace. Register within 90 days of purchase.
