Celebrity Cannabis Brands in 2026: Who's Still Selling (and Who Quit)

October 05, 2026 7 min read

Updated October 2026

Short answer: as of October 2026, Mike Tyson (Tyson 2.0), Wiz Khalifa (Khalifa Kush), Willie Nelson (Willie's Reserve), Seth Rogen (Houseplant) and Snoop Dogg (Death Row Cannabis) still have active cannabis brands. Jay-Z's Monogram has disappeared from shelves and Whoopi Goldberg's Whoopi & Maya shut down in 2020. Others, like Lil Wayne's GKUA, have gone quiet.

Celebrity weed brands were the hottest thing in cannabis for about five years. Every rapper, comedian and talk-show legend wanted a strain with their name on it. Some built real businesses. Some burned through a lot of money. A few just sort of faded out without an announcement.

We dug through press releases and trade news so you don't have to. Everything below is sourced and linked, stated as plainly as we can. Where we couldn't confirm current status, we say so. And because we're a grinder company, we'll also tell you the one thing that matters no matter whose face is on the jar.

Still selling

Mike Tyson: Tyson 2.0

Founded by Tyson in 2021, Tyson 2.0 is probably the busiest celebrity brand going right now. In April 2025 Tyson was named CEO of Carma HoldCo, the parent company behind Tyson 2.0, according to Forbes. In 2026 alone the brand announced a social club in Marbella, Spain and a second Amsterdam coffeeshop (January), a Pennsylvania and Maryland launch with TerrAscend (March), and a Rhode Island launch with Reborn Roots (August, per Providence Business News). Love him or not, the man is not slowing down.

Wiz Khalifa: Khalifa Kush

Khalifa Kush debuted in the US in 2015. According to the brand's August 25, 2026 press release, it now operates in 13 US markets (Arizona, California, DC, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington) plus Germany, Israel and Thailand. That same release launched Khalifa Kush & Orange Juice, a hemp-derived THC drink made with Scofflaw Brewing. Yes, it shares a name with his 2010 mixtape. Of course it does.

Willie Nelson: Willie's Reserve

One of the original celebrity weed brands, launched in the mid-2010s. Today it's run by Long Play, Inc., which lists three Willie's brands: Willie's Reserve (flower, pre-rolls, vapes and edibles in licensed dispensaries), Willie's Remedy+ (hemp-derived THC drinks and THCA smokes) and Willie's Remedy (hemp CBD). The brand is licensed to local operators state by state, which is common in cannabis since flower generally can't cross state lines.

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg: Houseplant

Houseplant launched in Canada in 2019 and came to the US in March 2021, co-founded by Rogen, Goldberg and Michael Mohr. It split from Canopy Growth in Canada in mid-2021, and Rogen said at the time it wasn't an exit from the Canadian market (Ganjapreneur). In December 2024 it added hemp-derived THC sparkling waters at 3 mg per can, sold at Total Wine & More in select markets and online. Houseplant also sells ashtrays, lighters and records, and in January 2026 it released a Roach Clip Side Table, a piece of furniture with a giant roach clip built in (Hypebeast). As accessory people, we respect this deeply.

Snoop Dogg: Leafs by Snoop and Death Row Cannabis

Snoop's first brand, Leafs by Snoop, launched in Denver in November 2015 and was later produced in Canada by Canopy Growth. We couldn't confirm whether Leafs is still on shelves in 2026. His newer play is Death Row Cannabis, tied to the record label he took over in 2022, which first hit Cookies stores in California in early 2023 and expanded into Nevada in May 2026 with vapes, edibles and pre-rolls (press release). In July 2024 he opened his first dispensary, S.W.E.D., in Los Angeles, according to Marijuana Moment.

Gone quiet (status not confirmed)

Tommy Chong

The godfather of celebrity weed. Chong's Choice launched in more than 25 California dispensaries on April 20, 2016, with strains like Chong Daddy Purple, and in 2021 he launched Tommy Chong pre-rolls in Michigan with MKX Brands. His name has been attached to plenty of deals over the years. We couldn't verify which products are on shelves right now, so check your local menu.

Lil Wayne: GKUA Ultra Premium

Weezy announced GKUA in December 2019, starting in select Los Angeles dispensaries with high-potency flower, vapes and concentrates (press release). The website is still up, but we couldn't find recent distribution news.

Martha Stewart: Martha Stewart CBD

Launched in September 2020 with Canopy Growth and Marquee Brands, later adding gummies, topicals and a pet line. It's CBD, not THC, and we couldn't confirm current availability for 2026. Martha, if you're reading this, we'd love a statement. Also a grinder in your kitchen collection.

Who quit (or closed)

Jay-Z: Monogram

Monogram launched in 2020 as a luxury brand with The Parent Company, with Jay-Z as chief visionary officer. In January 2023 the partnership was restructured, and The Parent Company then merged with Gold Flora in July 2023. In December 2024, Black Enterprise reported that none of the retailers listed on Monogram's site still stocked it. Gold Flora entered receivership in March 2025, per CRB Monitor. Short version: big launch, big prices, and it's no longer on shelves.

Whoopi Goldberg: Whoopi & Maya

Founded in 2016 and shut down in 2020, per Wikipedia's list of celebrity cannabis businesses, which is a handy starting point if you want to go further down the rabbit hole.

Other famous names in the game

That same list includes more brands we didn't independently verify for 2026: former NFL running back Ricky Williams's Highsman (2021), Jim Belushi's Belushi's Farm, Carlos Santana's Mirayo (2020) and Gwyneth Paltrow's investment in the cannabis drink maker Cann (2020).

The big 2026 wrinkle: hemp THC drinks

Notice how many of these brands just launched hemp-derived THC drinks? Houseplant, Khalifa Kush and Willie's Remedy+ all play in that space. A federal law signed in late 2025 redefines hemp to cut out most intoxicating hemp products. It was set to take effect November 12, 2026, then H.R. 6500, signed September 2, 2026, pushed most of it to December 11, 2026, according to Foley Hoag. Congress could still change things, and state rules vary, so check current state and local law before you buy. Our 2026 rescheduling and hemp explainer has more.

Is celebrity weed actually better?

Honest answer: the name on the bag tells you who's marketing it, not who grew it. Many celebrity brands license their name to local growers in each state, because cannabis flower generally can't be shipped across state lines. That means the same brand can taste different in Arizona than in Ohio.

So shop the flower, not the face:

  • Check the harvest or package date. Fresher is better.
  • Read the lab results (COA). Terpenes tell you more about flavor than THC percentage does.
  • Smell it if your dispensary allows it. Your nose is a better critic than any billboard.
  • Compare against local craft brands. Some of the best flower in any market has no celebrity attached at all. Our best weed strains guide is a good place to start.

Whatever you buy, grind it right

Here's where we come in. Whether it's a $60 eighth with a famous name on it or a local craft jar with a hand-drawn label, a bad grinder can ruin it. Dull teeth crush and mash the flower, knocking trichomes off and turning buds into fast-burning dust.

Phoenician grinders use diametrically cut, razor-sharp teeth that cut like scissors, with oversized trapezoidal drop-through holes so flower falls through before it's overground. Load pea-sized pieces around the teeth, give it a few short twists back and forth, tap, and you're done. The patented threadless quick lock opens with a short twist (about a third of a turn), and a removable stainless screen catches kief below.
