Short answer: the strains people are actually hunting for in 2026–2027 include Glitter Bomb, Zoap, Dante's Inferno, Blue Lobster, Hash Burger, Moroccan Peaches and Cap Junky, plus crowd favorites like Candy Fumez, Blue Nerds, Cadillac Rainbows, Pink Rozay and Pink Lemonade. Below: lineage, aroma, what people report, bud structure, and exactly how to grind each one.
Every strain list on the internet tells you what a strain smells like and how high it gets you. Cool. Nobody tells you what to do with it once it's sitting in your grinder. We're a grinder company, so yes, we have opinions, and this is the list where we finally share them. Twelve strains, real lineage (with the arguments included when breeders disagree), and a grind note for each: which grinder, which screen, how many turns, and whether it wants to be a joint, a bowl or a vape load.
Quick legal note: this is for adults 21+ where cannabis is legal. Rules and menus vary by state, so check your local law before you go shopping.
No made-up rankings, no "#1 strain in America" nonsense. A strain made this list if we could verify at least one of these:
Lineage was checked against breeder info, Leafly and SeedFinder. Where sources disagree, we say so. THC numbers bounce around by grower and batch, so we mostly skip them.
| Strain | Type | Dominant aroma | Density / stickiness | Recommended screen |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cap Junky | Hybrid | Sour fruit rind, pepper, gas | Dense, very sticky | 400 coarse |
| Zoap | Hybrid | Sweet, floral, "soap," fruit | Dense, sticky | 300 standard |
| Blue Nerds | Hybrid | Berry candy, apple | Fluffier, medium resin | 300 standard |
| Candy Fumez | Hybrid | Candy, citrus, diesel | Big and fluffy, frosty | 300 standard |
| Dante's Inferno | Indica-leaning hybrid | Sweet cream, pepper | Dense, very sticky | 400 coarse |
| Pink Lemonade | Hybrid | Lemon, grapefruit, mint | Medium, frosty, drier | 180 fine |
| Moroccan Peaches | Hybrid | Peach, citrus, funk | Dense, resin-heavy | 400 coarse |
| Cadillac Rainbows | Hybrid | Lemon, diesel, cherry | Big buds, medium-dense | 300 standard |
| Pink Rozay | Indica | Rose, berry, florals | Dense, medium resin | 300 standard |
| Glitter Bomb | Indica-leaning hybrid | Blueberry, grape, gas | Dense, extremely frosty | 400 coarse |
| Hash Burger | Hybrid | Garlic, onion, skunk funk | Dense, greasy resin | 400 coarse |
| Blue Lobster | Hybrid | Blueberry candy, grape, gas | Medium-dense, frosty | 300 standard |
Two things control your grind, and people mix them up constantly:
All three screens come in the Upgrade Kit. The full breakdown lives in how the Phoenician screen system works, and our grind guide covers technique.
Lineage: Grape Gas #10 x OGKB Blueberry Headband, from Compound Genetics, with the keeper pheno selected for 2022. Leafly describes it as "loud, big, blingy, dark, and dramatic-looking," and that's accurate.
Aroma and flavor: Dank blueberry, grape and gas, with some pear and plum in the background.
What people report: Relaxed, giggly, tingly. It sits you down, so most people save it for the evening.
Bud structure: Big, dense, dark buds buried in trichomes. This is the strain that makes your fingers squeak.
How to grind it: 4 piece with the 400 coarse screen. Break nugs to pea size, load loosely, then 4 to 5 short back-and-forth turns and a few firm taps. Your kief chamber will fill fast. Great in a bowl or a joint.
Lineage: Rainbow Sherbet x Pink Guava from Deo Farms in Oakland. Leafly flagged it as rising to national prominence and a serious Strain of the Year contender in 2026.
Aroma and flavor: Sweet and floral with an actual soapy note (hence the name), plus fruit and a little earth.
What people report: Relaxed, giggly, euphoric, and the munchies show up.
Bud structure: Dense, dark olive buds with purple tones and a sticky trichome coat.
How to grind it: 300 standard screen works most of the year. In humid weather, swap to coarse. 4 to 5 turns for joints, 3 for a bowl. Zoap's floral top notes are delicate, so grind right before you smoke.
Lineage: Oreoz x Devil Driver, credited to Clearwater Genetics and Tiki Madman. Lots of cookies genetics in there.
Aroma and flavor: Sweet cream up front, then pepper. Some people get a mango-cookie thing.
What people report: Relaxed, tingly, happy. Leafly lists it as an indica-leaning hybrid.
Bud structure: Dense, conical, pink-tinged frost. Sticky.
How to grind it: 400 coarse screen and short turns. For a dry herb vape, flip the grinder upside down and give it 3 or 4 extra turns so the flower stays in the teeth longer and comes out finer. That cream flavor shows up best at lower vape temps.
Lineage: Apples and Bananas x Eye Candy, bred by Cipher Genetics and hunted and named by Maine Trees. A Leafly Strain of the Year 2025 nominee, and it won Gassiest and Best Terps at the 2023 East Coast Zalympix.
Aroma and flavor: Blueberry candy layered with grape and a gassy finish.
What people report: Relaxed in the body, still talkative. Plenty of people call it an anytime strain.
Bud structure: Deep green buds with periwinkle tones and heavy frost. Medium-dense.
How to grind it: Standard 300 screen, 3 to 4 turns. Joints love it. If your batch is extra greasy, go coarse.
Lineage: Double Burger (Donny Burger x GMO) x Han Solo Hash Plant, from Respect and Mrs. Respect of California Seed Bank with Skunk House Genetics. Leafly's Strain of the Year 2025, which tells you where tastes are going: away from candy, back toward funk.
Aroma and flavor: Garlic, onion, cheese and pepper over a skunky base. Your roommate will know.
What people report: Starts in the head, spreads into the body, very strong. Experienced consumers only.
Bud structure: Dense with a hashy, silvery sheen. It's bred for hash yield, which means resin everywhere.
How to grind it: Coarse 400 screen, no exceptions. Hand-break first, load light, short turns. If it starts gumming up the teeth, 10 minutes in the freezer makes the resin brittle so you can tap it clean. This is the strain that clogs cheap threaded grinders by Thursday.
Lineage: Spanish Barbara x Lemon Tree Skorange from Purple City Genetics. First place for rosin at the 2023 Emerald Cup.
Aroma and flavor: Peach front and center, citrus and a funky, savory edge.
What people report: Energetic, focused, creative. More of a daytime strain than most on this list.
Bud structure: Dense, bright green, resin-heavy. A rosin winner is a resin monster by definition.
How to grind it: 400 coarse screen to keep kief flowing. 3 to 4 turns for joints. For a vape, flip it upside down for extra turns and keep the temp low so the peach survives.
Lineage: Alien Cookies x Kush Mints #11, a collaboration between Capulator (the MAC guy) and Seed Junky Genetics. Clones launched in 2021 at $1,000 each, which is the most cannabis sentence ever written.
Aroma and flavor: Sour fruit rind, pepper, gas and dank, with a creamy, minty finish.
What people report: Giggly, tingly, relaxed, and heavy enough that couch-lock comes up a lot. Built for experienced smokers.
Bud structure: Dense, conical, frosted buds. Sticky.
How to grind it: 400 coarse screen. Pea-size pieces, 4 to 5 short turns, tap. Joint or bowl. Don't overgrind it into dust; the gas hits harder from a fluffier cut.
Lineage: Zkittlez (Z) x Sherbanger from Bloom Seed Co, with genetics improved alongside Boston Roots.
Aroma and flavor: Sweet candy and tropical fruit, citrus, then a chemical, gassy exhale.
What people report: Euphoric, relaxed, a little creative.
Bud structure: Oversized, fluffy, grape-shaped nugs with a lot of fine frost.
How to grind it: Airy buds grind fast, so go easy: 2 to 3 turns on the standard 300 screen. A PRO 2 Piece Medium is honestly great here because the flower stays in the teeth for a fluffy cut. Perfect joint flower.
Lineage: Disputed. Leafly credits Global Genetics LA with Runtz x Zkittlez, and notes other versions using Forbidden Fruit x Watermelon Z. Same name, different cuts depending on where you shop.
Aroma and flavor: Fruit-forward candy, berry, apple and a bit of earth.
What people report: Focused, relaxed, euphoric, creative.
Bud structure: Fluffier, grape-shaped nugs with purple tones and medium resin.
How to grind it: Standard 300 screen, 3 turns. Bowls and joints. Because the lineage varies, give your batch the squeeze test: if it springs back sticky, switch to coarse.
Lineage: Pure Michigan x Runtz from 3rd Coast Genetics, a Michigan breeder. You'll see it as Cadillac Rainbow or Cadillac Rainbows.
Aroma and flavor: Lemon and diesel with cherry and a hint of mint.
What people report: Relaxed, euphoric, happy. Lab results tend to run very high, so pace yourself.
Bud structure: Big, colorful buds (green, purple, orange) with good frost. Medium-dense.
How to grind it: Standard 300 screen, 4 turns. Big buds and big sessions are why the PRO 4 Piece Large with paper holder exists: grind, roll, ash, all from one tool.
Lineage: Disputed. It's a Cookies strain, everyone agrees on that. Retailers and Cookies-adjacent sources commonly list Lemonchello 10 x London Pound Cake 75, while Leafly's listing shows different parents. We'd treat the exact cross as unconfirmed.
Aroma and flavor: Rose, florals and lavender, with raspberry and strawberry notes.
What people report: A heavy head high with an easy body. People often describe it as relaxing.
Bud structure: Dense, spade-shaped buds with pink and purple tones.
How to grind it: Standard 300 screen, 4 to 5 turns. Bowls show off the floral notes best. Grind fresh; florals fade fast once broken up.
Lineage: Lemon Skunk x Purple Kush is the commonly listed cross (breeder not confirmed). Heads up: some brands sell a different "Pink Lemonade," like a Strawberry Fields x Sunset Sherbet version in Maryland.
Aroma and flavor: Lemon and grapefruit with a minty, tea-like edge.
What people report: Focused, energetic, creative. A daytime pick for a lot of people.
Bud structure: Lighter green, spade-shaped, frosty, and often on the drier side.
How to grind it: 180 fine screen so your kief comes out clean, not green. 3 turns for a joint. For a vape, flip it and add a few turns.
Short version: if you buy modern, resin-heavy flower, you want sharp teeth that cut instead of crush, big drop-through holes, no threads for resin to seize, and a screen you can swap. That's the whole reason Phoenician uses diametrically cut teeth, trapezoidal holes and a threadless lock that opens with a short twist.

Love the old-school stuff too? Our greatest classic weed strains of all time gets the same history-plus-grind treatment for OG Kush, Sour Diesel, Northern Lights and the rest.
There's no single answer, and anyone who gives you one is selling something. Glitter Bomb, Zoap, Dante's Inferno and Blue Lobster are getting the most editorial attention this fall, and Hash Burger was Leafly's Strain of the Year 2025.
Yes. Dense, sticky strains want a coarse screen and short turns. Fluffy strains need fewer turns so you don't turn them into dust. Dry, frosty strains do best with a fine screen for cleaner kief.
The 400 micron coarse screen. Resin can't bridge the bigger openings as easily, so kief keeps falling through.
Treat them as a rough guide. Results vary by grower, batch and lab, which is why we lean on lineage, aroma and structure instead.
Yes. Ground flower loses aroma faster than whole buds, so grind right before your session. Sharp teeth that cut instead of crush also keep more trichomes intact.
Twelve strains, one grinder that handles all of them. Match the screen, count your turns, enjoy the good stuff.

A 2 piece weed grinder is a lid and a bowl, nothing else. No screen to clog, no chamber to empty, and a fluffier grind because the flower stays in the teeth instead of dropping through holes. Phoenician 2 piece grinders use the same arced cutter blades, threadless quick lock and aircraft grade aluminum as the PRO 4 piece, with a notched grip groove around the body, and they carry the same limited lifetime warranty.
People who roll or pack right away and do not want to collect kief, people who want the fastest clean possible, and anyone who prefers a lighter grinder. If you want to save trichomes, choose a 4 piece grinder with a kief catcher instead.
Medium: 2.47 inch diameter, 1.14 inch tall, 5 oz. The everyday size. $39.99.
Large: 3.225 inch diameter, 1.14 inch tall, 9 oz. For bigger batches and shared sessions. $49.99.
